Hoping Shows is not the ref for our game in Starkville

If he is then you can bet that he will dominate the game in their favor. The last time they beat us he pretty much handed them the game. Given his ties to the school it's ridiculous that they ever let him call a game for them - especially a game in Starkville against Ole Miss.

I couldn't agree more. He's like the 'Doyle Jackson' of college football when the Rebels play the pachyderms and old Doyle has his fatass in the replay booth chair.[/B]

He's probably the top rated basketball referee in the SEC. Shows has called numerous final fours and was one of the referees when UConn beat Butler to win the national championship in Houston in 2011. I know because I was there. Ask AK if he would take Shows for any game, home or away, and I bet you'll be surprised at his answer.

Probably the only person here that could actually ask AK and get an honest answer (as if any SEC coach will openly criticize an official) is Ranch. I think Ranch already knows that honest answer and it may surprise you #1SECfan (a.k.a. 1MSUfan).

Consider this: Doug Shows' father played basketball at MisStake. Lil Dougie grew up a bulldog fan. It's in his genes...and so...does he have a bias against Ole Miss. Well...
I believe it was last year--when the Rebels played in Starkville--and Shows officiated the game and the bulldogs got away with everything but the kitchen sink.[/B]

Shows is an excellent ref. But he is very biased when he calls Miss State games. He use to be pro Ole Miss but he hasn't been lately. He gave Kentucky the game last year in the Tad Pad with pitiful calls late in the game. State will shoot 40 FT's in our next game with them if Shows calls the game.
