How/why do the officials NOT seem to protect Dart?

You guys at the game probably did not see it but there were several plays at home where he took late hits and slaps to his helmet....should have been 15 yard penalties.

I can not imagine Lane's call to Bham today...a couple were so bad that if Dart were my kid I would be calling to rip someone a new one!
