That maybe this team is good? They’ve shored up their issue on the boards despite being undersized, and are playing elite defense in SEC play. Not good, but elite.
Dia is a monster right now. He’s really difficult to guard and something I recognized at the LSU game — they voluntarily start him in the half court against specific guards/playmakers and not just against bigs because he’s agile enough and creates problems for shooters. They do it out of stoppages of play and set defense routinely.
Pedulla is absolute money, Murrell has played elite D, and the rest of the team just does their job possession by possession.
They have a chance to do some special stuff this year, it’s possible to finish top 4 in the SEC. We benefit from having a ton of seniors as major contributors. Most of the time we run 5 seniors on the court or 4 seniors and a junior. Experience finds ways to win.
