Yesterday, I posted on the ticket exchange that I was looking for 4 club level tickets for the MSUx game; I listed my phone number in the post. I have bought dozens of tickets from members on this site and never once had a problem. Shortly after my post, I got a text message from 919-251-2052 saying they had 4 club tickets if I was interested. I texted back shortly after, by the time I responded he said, "my wife just sold our tickets, but my brother has 5 together in section 113, row P." His brother texted me (779-364-3322) and said, "my brother texted me your number saying you needed tickets, I have 5 together, $85.00 a piece." To make a long exchange short, we agreed on a price ($400) for all 5 tickets and a parking pass. I sent him the funds via apple pay, and patiently waited for the ticket transfer. I didn't hear anything for about an hour and started texting him. Initially, he responded. He said "I'm trying to transfer them from Stubhub, but am having an issue." Then he said Stubhub was trying to charge him a fee to transfer them and he didn't think it was fair for him to pay the fee since he discounted the tickets. I offered to split the fee with him, we went back and forth for about an hour, then radio silence. I texted his brother, tried calling both of them, no response. The guy that "sold" me the tickets said his name was Jason, I didn't catch it at the time, but he gave me a Venmo name (his preferred payment method) of Jeffrey-Wessels-5. I didn't think anything of it at the time because I've never had an issue buying tickets on Rebel Grove.
In short, if anyone recognizes the numbers listed above, please shoot me a message. I like to believe the good in people; however, I'm fairly certain "Jason"/Jeffrey-Wessels-5 screwed me and stole my money. I was buying the tickets to take my wife and 3 little boys to the game tonight, pretty bummed we're not going to get to go. Equally bummed I'm going to have to tell my little dudes we aren't going to the game. I'm sure I'll get responses about how I should have done this or that to make sure I didn't get screwed, valid points; however, I thought this was a community where you could trust people. Shame on me! I appreciate any information or help RG may be able to provide. Pity Party over, TIA!
