Will Furniss - HYDR, hats off to you!!!!
There's nothing like walking onto the field of (whatever sport you play) before the game, and not knowing the outcome. It is that feeling - hope, excitement, anxiousness, fear, will I make the difference, will I screw it up, will I not matter, it's the feeling - that you are there, and you are an individual but more importantly part of a team. The goosebumps, knot in the stomach, arrogance or hope that "you got this", whatever, I love that feeling. I am mostly unable to do anything active without pain, but golf, I can play golf. I love it, I play tournaments so to speak, and I play for fun, but I get that feeling every time I tee off. Walking up, placing the ball, getting ready and wham! Trees, street, creek, green, doesn't matter. It's all I have, but I love it.
Will Furniss may be the greatest OM athlete ever. He's a phoenix! Reading Neal's article, I got that feeling, teary, because I love OM. Maybe too much but I do not care. I love OM. I will always support it positively. And I hope you do as well. It is special, it is great, and sometimes, total despair. I love every moment of it. If you have not read Tuesday's with Morrie, do it, do it now. You will appreciate the importance of feeling it all, full feeling of the moment. Much like Will must have when he asked Scott Wyant for help. Hats off to both of you.
OM is a special place, it gets deep into your heart, and to see Furniss do something like he did with the video, in the face of what we went through with OM baseball, makes me so damn proud. If I had a million dollars to give him I would. What he did is love - for OM, his team, his coaches, and himself. Amazing.
Be like Will!
