Make both leagues 20 team leagues. B1G already has 18, so they need to add two more — Notre Dame and Miami.
The SEC has 16 teams, so we’d need 4 more. My proposal: Add Clemson, UNC, Duke, and Florida State.
To differentiate yourself from being NFL Jr. and remaining entertaining, the playoff model will have to be different. Take the top 8 from each league and cross-match them. SEC 1 vs B1G 8. SEC 2 vs B1G 7. And vice versa and so on and so forth for the top 8 of each league. Play the first 2 rounds on campuses. Semis and Championship at neutral sites.
The ratings would be through the roof, you’d cover all the time zones with available teams (since a bunch of old PAC teams are in the B1G now), and let the rest of the leagues (and bowl qualifiers from the SEC and B1G) have all the bowl games.
