I told you so.
I told you this group of offensive linemen had chemistry. Those guys played to their strengths, the coaches put them in a great position with play calling, the protection was slid to help guys- they made each other better as individuals and as a unit. The results speak for themselves.
I try to speak very little about Robert's play- I try to let it speak for itself- because I do not want to come off sounding like a little league parent screaming "Johnny is great!" - when Johnny is terrible. I know my perspective on him is prejudiced but as the title of the thread says- I'm going to say it.
First - "Nice snap" - I have had to say it for one snap in each game so far- the sarcasm is not lost on him. It's just my way of trying to keep him getting better.
Second - I think he is the straw that stirs the drink on the O-line, that leader needed last year. He makes the guys around him better which is a sign of a great player and a great teammate.
Third - I haven't seen him miss an assignment or blow a call ( I could be wrong but I haven't seen it ).
Last- he is tough as a bull gator. The issue with his knee caused him a lot of pain, he had fluid drained at least once last week, his knee also buckled on him twice during the game - one time when he asked to come out and once after he came back- but he refused to let his teammates down. I am not sure he divulged the extent of the pain to anyone for fear it would keep him from the field. ( He has no structural damage- no tearing- just painful bruising and swelling so he will recover fully )
Thank you all for the supportive and encouraging comments in other threads- those guys all did a great job on Saturday night. Hotty Toddy.
