Snoop's play was not as bad as it might appear. The worst thing you can do with 3 or more seconds is let the player dribble unabated. A good player can get a very good shot in that amount of time. Snoop was back peddling and not being aggressive with his hands. 99 times out of 100 that won't be called a foul.
I would rather lose that way than a Laettner like scenario.
