Yes, a time when the mild mannered citizens of the quiet community gather round the now 'big screen' TV and transmogrify into unearthly, wild eyed zealots screaming at 22 brightly clad youths crashing together on bright green, white striped fields and fighting over a 15 oz bag of air they are trying to get into the promised land. Yes, my wonderful Mississippi Rebel friends, it's time to shed our pretentious vale of civility and join the mind numbing mobs crowded into giant arenas drowning themselves in spirits of Johnny Walker and Jim Beam to cheer their favorite contenders on to short lived moments of ecstatic victory or debilitating defeat. Oh yes, it's a time when families split in their loyalties and for a brief moment become quintessential adversaries challenging one another for bragging rights that carry for the next year until the games again bring forth the dawn of another season seeking the thrill of victory or suffering the agony of defeat.
