What a weekend. The wife and I tied one on Friday night after Cubs win and waited for a cab that never showed for about 2 hours.
As I said in another thread, Pettey had us over Saturday morning and we ate, drank, and talked RebelGrove. Around 4th quarter of Mizzou game headed out to meet up with some Bammers and Ole Miss people at Innisfree to watch LSU destroy Slawburn. Then headed to the Quad. I saw Dearrian Shackelford and spoke to him. Nicest person on the planet. We were also near Lord Jeffrey Wright in the Quad but I did not harass my boi. Lastly, hung at $2 million dollar SUV with a super nice group of Bama fans. I complemented them on their live sized Saban statue (it was 5 inches tall) and we watched a nutty Miami/Nebraska game. Told my Bama wife to eat it and headed to Bryan Denny. You could tell all day they were nervous. I have been to many Ole Miss games in Tuscaloosa and got more dirty looks and comments about my Ole Miss stuff then all other trips combined.
We had great seats in section KK with a couple Ole Miss fans around. Young bucks two rows up from us with "X" marks on their hands from the bar were fighting the good fight. All Bama fans in our area were super nice. That place is nuts. They blast awesome music in there and it got so damn loud after those couple late sacks of Swag Kelly. I saw Kerry Johnson at halftime and he was pretty impressed I recalled hiim running over South Carolina on way to endzone years ago.
My heart cannot handle many more that like game. I hated the two point play when we lined up and was annoyed how late our hands team was assembled before onsides kick. But outside of that it was just an amazing experience. I saw two grown Bama fans (men) crying in the stadium as I walk to corner of endzone. I have never seen a human as happy as CJ Johnson signing Hotty Toddy and throwing his gloves and sweatbands into the Rebel crowd.
Sorry for rambling but it was just an amazing day and even better night. Who else was there?
