This is for parents with experience:
At what age do kids stop taking their favorite stuffed animal/lovie to summer sleep away camps? My 4th grade son is an only child who will turn 11 this summer. We have finally convinced him that summer camp is fun and he is excited to go to his first one. He wants to take his favorite lovie and keep it hidden in his pillow. When friends come spend the night, they still bring blankets and/or lovies. One of his classmates is also going to the same sleep away camp. This kid can be nice but can also be a bully at school sometimes. My wife is concerned that this kid or someone else might make fun of our son or worse, tear/hide the lovie. This kid and his younger sister live with their grandparents. We aren’t sure the status of their parents. He can be nice but when he picks on other kids, he goes to a mean level beyond anyone else in the grade (told a sweet little girl no one loves her). This kid was on our son’s football team last fall and they have never had issues. But he has had issue with a 3rd boy on the team who is also friends with our son. So it’s clearly a delicate situation. Yay 4th grade drama
