“I think it’s a great tradition,” Kiffin said of the long-held football tradition. “I wish it was a little shorter. It got longer, too. You know, ‘cause there’s construction. Our players are kind of sweating by the time they get through it.

“But, no, it’s really cool. It’s neat to be that close to the fans. It’s really great. I just wish the fans would all come into the stadium after the walk and just stay. The Grove is awesome, but we’d like everybody to come in the stadium.”

Let’s not turn this into the normal Kiffin attendance devolution thread. He gave the students and fans credit with the first game attendance, but he made very fair points. I think Lane has finally bought into the Ole Miss program — he’s still trying to make us An elite program and that includes getting more of the grove crowd into the stadium. That being said, I think he’s gonna be really pleased when he sees Tulane’s stadium painted red tomorrow.
