Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin was on the SEC Teleconference Wednesday. Here's a recap:

Tulane is “a very big test,” and “a New Year’s Six champion. We’re going to have our hands full. …They play with great resiliency. …This is a really big challenge and we’re trying to get our players to understand that even though they’re not in the SEC, this is an SEC game.”

Was asked about encouraging Steve Sarkisian to go to Alabama. He talked about Sarkisian had hit rock bottom but added that what he’d done since and now taking Texas to Alabama is an awesome story.

Said Tulane QB Michael Pratt is “playing as well as anybody in the country the last two years.” Kiffin said team is taking Green Wave seriously, adding that the Wave’s win over USC “grabbed their attention. …This is a big-time Top-25 opponent.”

He said Dart and Judkins are doing the little things better this year thanks to familiarity with the system. “I’m very pleased with them,” Kiffin said.

Said new rules didn’t impact Ole Miss versus Mercer, but he said he just doesn’t understand the new rules.

“It’s not like it was broke. There were a lot of problems in the world of college football. …I just don’t get it. …It just doesn’t show much awareness around what needs getting worked on around college football.”
