This is a position that was elite under Freeze and still extremely good under Luke. Lane inherited good talent at the position and it’s become a weak spot under his tenure.
Let’s start by acknowledging the receivers we’ve put on the field the past two seasons vs Bama gave us no chance to win the game. Last year the spot was weak and this year they tried to patch it through the portal. With a couple of injuries and a dumb gamble on Marshall you know who we have to rely on? Undersized kids who are not #1 or #2 receivers or on players that have been in the program multiple years but haven’t developed. Other programs seem to find ways to get their star freshmen receivers involved. We can’t.
