1. We played an opponent last night that doesn't get any team motivated or hyped to play and MORE importantly we just came off a HUGE victory in Tuscaloosa…a place no Ole Miss team has won at since 1988.
It was THE HANGOVER after such a big game and we didn't start snapping out of it until the 3rd quarter. It was natural and inevitable. Every team goes through it and sometimes you just can't get up for every opponent especially Vanderbilt.

2. The Alabama game was a WAR. We battled hard and the end result was a win but with a lot of tired, injured players. It was tough competition between two talented teams.

3. Lets give Vanderbilt some credit. Its the SEC and no team is a gimme not even Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt and its coaches and players have been hearing all this season how they suck from the media and fans. That has to give them some ammunition and fire to their play. Derek Mason is one of the better defensive coaches in the country. He did a great job out at Stanford. At the same time our team had been hearing how great they were and getting pats on the back all week made them probably a bit soft. Who has the mental edge and fire at that point? Vandy's TE's were good and their OC called a good game.

4. Great teams win games even when calls and fortune seem to not go their way throughout the game. We caught breaks as well. Every team has lucky breaks and we're no different. In the end we made the plays we needed to make to win the game.

I still say we can win the West. The season has its ups and downs and last night was a bit of a downer. I can promise you our focus, preparation and fire will come back this week before we play at Florida.
