As you've seen by now probably, Germantown HS cornerback Nigel Knott, whose dad played at Ole Miss and whose godfather is Derek Jones, called off his commitment scheduled for this week.

Knott officially visited Oregon this past weekend. Scuttlebutt has had him leaning toward an out-of-state commitment for some time, but a lot of people believe his eventual destination will be an in-state school. He's been receptive to Ole Miss.

Neal has the exact quotes, but we reached out to Jeffery Simmons about the Ole Miss win over Alabama. He was in attendance and loved the atmosphere but was quite diplomatic about the schools. Simmons said he can see himself playing for either of them. He can go wherever he wants, and as we've mentioned, Ole Miss, MSU and Alabama all feel good about their positions with him.

DK Metcalf told me, "It was a good game, and I just saw that Ole Miss made more plays than Alabama and Alabama receivers were dropping the ball in big situations."

Ole Miss commit Greg Eisworth has become one of my favorite recruits in this class. The Texas product is the do-it-all force for his high school team, which has won three games in a row. He scored four touchdowns in the latest victory. More on that in tomorrow's edition of Following the Future. But, anyway, Eisworth will likely be overlooked some by other prospects, but he's athletic and seems to be pretty intelligent.

He said this about the game: "It was a very exciting and entertaining game to watch. It was great seeing the offense score so many points consistently throughout these first three games when Ole Miss is usually well known for defense. Chad Kelly looked really composed considering it's only the third game and such a big one. I feel like the offense and defense will only get better from this point on."

Daniel Crowell announced on Twitter he is "recommitting" on Nov. 28. Ole Miss has stayed in contact, so that might be the correct term, or it could just mean he is going to pick a school on that day. Ole Miss has other highly regarded targets at that position, such as Drake Davis and others, so while it might work out for Crowell, if he's planning to join the Rebels again that was a risky move.
