Several of my morning thoughts:
1) Tulane viewed that as a Super Bowl. Look at their schedule. Had they beaten ole miss, they could go 12-0. They played up, and we likely were a little shell-shocked.
2) Pete Golding made halftime adjustments. Their backup qb looked decent first half and awful second half. He changed the scheme and got after him. I’m not sure last year’s defense makes that switch.
3) We prepared all week for Pratt (even lane said that). Probably why it took a half to change defense. Didn’t expect them to try to run it.
4) O-line is bad because of lack of TE blocking. Wanna see preiskorn back. Maybe the late success was a wake up call to Trigg?
5) Where is Jayden Williams (starting LT the entire year last year) and Perkins (only played special teams after being our leading tackler last week)? In my opinion, put Perkins in, and let him learn on the job. Give me the high upside guy with low floor (for now) unlike a few players we have there who appear slow.
6) Jordan Watkins and Dayton Wade are both a solid WR 2 or 3 option. Had we had Prieskorn, Chris Marshall, Franklin, and Tre Harris out there together, imagine how good we’d at receiver. I say that because kiffin put it together. Bad luck (and one idiot decision) took it apart. Good reason to think he can do it again next year when it matters (2024 expanded playoffs).
Thanks for listening to my Ted talk. Have a good day.
