I just happen to catch a random video on the computer of the first Talladega 500 in September 1969..
It was won by Richard Brickhouse driving a Dodge Charger Daytona... First NASCAR race for the special Dodge Charger..
NASCAR would eventually ban the Dodge Charger because the body design and engine configuration made it too fast. Plymouth would come out with the similar Superbird in 1970, but it too was eventually banned by NASCAR...
That's a double history moment.. 99 car winning its first ever race at the inaugural Talladega 500..
