I'm driving to Charleston from Memphis in a few weeks. I am thinking about leaving a day early and driving through ATL and then stopping for the night. Then I can wake up and roll to Charleston without having a full day of driving or having to screw with getting through ATL.
Any advice on towns/places that are decent to stay in off of I-20 east of Atlanta? Covington? I don't need fancy accommodations, I'll be alone. Just want to not be in a ghetto or shady area.
