I hope I got the thread title right.....
I watched a little known film noir offering on the Watch TCM app late this afternoon..... Red Light from 1949 starring George Raft, the luscious Virginia Mayo, Raymond Burr, Harry Morgan, and Gene Lockhart... It was suspenseful and kept my interest from start to finish... Raymond Burr and Harry Morgan played two very unsavory characters--especially Burr...
Lots of great lines in the movie, such as:
My old man always said, "liquor doesn't drown your troubles - just teaches 'em to swim."
You know, Johnny, when you play solitaire you can only beat yourself.
I was with you in Reno last night when you nearly shot a man. (I thought about the line from the Johnny Cash song, Folsom Prison Blues-- "But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die")....
She's about as chummy as Leo Durocher with an umpire.
In short, it's an entertaining film that's 83 minutes long...
