Been battling ild for 2 years. Been to Primary Care, Baptist, and finally to Mayo in Jacksonville over the course of 6 months. Primary care dismissed it in 2022 when no symptoms were present. Said old scarring from pneumonia. Initially Showed up on MRI at cardiovasular center in Tupelo. I took downward spiral in July. Been on oxygen ever since. I asked Baptist in Oxford to do a bronchoscopy but they insisted on the vats procedure. I filibustered them long enough for them to be too concerned about my platelets being low. Couple visits later over course of two months at Mayo and the Cryo biopsy lab results tested positive for Gram Stain Cocci today. I have not discussed with my team but I am cautiously optimistic. My lung damage is very extensive. Down to 50% lung function. I am extremely active as I own a farm and work in construction. This has weighed me down physically and mentally. Prayers are appreciated I get through post opp unscathed and start fighting this thing head on.
