I recently was given a Mac mini that hadn’t been used or updated since about 2019. I have it up and running fine, created an admin account for myself, and it’s directly next to a mesh point getting 70 mbps. Internet works fine when using Mozilla only, safari doesn’t at all.
But I’m stuck in that I can’t login to the App Store to update or d/l any apps (“cant establish a secure connection”), iCloud, iTunes, etc.. I knew this with the old admin account. When I created the new admin account, it prompted to login using my Apple ID, but it could never complete the login.
I’ve reinstalled the OS, I’ve done the NVRAM reset. Firewall has been off and deleted the possible issue App Store cache files. Still doesn’t work. Am I at factory reset time and hope that works, or is this a lost cause? What other options do I have? I’d like to use it for more than data storage and trolling @jprebel.
