Many players that leave early drop off the radar never to be heard from again. The smart ones that stick around get another year of experience and maturity usually do better. However, the lure of the signing bonus and possible big bucks , family needs will many times overcome good judgment. In Kelly's case I think he will listen to his uncle Jim. If uncle Jim says stay another year he will stay another year.

Agree Ashlin. Another year of sec expect could be big if it works out of course. We can always refer to jevan Smead for comps.

Well, when Chad is talking about 'next season' it stands to reason that his mindset is playing out his senior year as a Rebel.

Kelly talks Egg Bowl:

I would be surprised...with his behavior history and inconsistency early in the season I think most NFL teams would want to see more from him before rolling the dice.

I asked my dad about Kelly who remembers Archie. He replied that Archie would have no problem with 3rd down plays as it was second nature to Archie. Chad is very much like Archie Manning in his maturity and ability to make the right decision. This guy is for real. Listen to your uncle, Chad.

In addition, like Archie he has confidence and is a calculated risk taker. Both can smell the first down and goal line and will go for it. Archie's real strength was his legs. Same with Kelly. He can use his legs and speed to break open a play for a first down or touchdown and get out of trouble. Plus, he is fearless. He is not afraid of taking the hits. When he did that cartwheel at the goal line against LSU he could have broken his neck if he landed wrong. He knew he was going to take some good hard licks before reaching the goal line. He did it anyway. Team leaders like that make the difference between consistently winning and losing. Kelly is the real deal, no question about it. He has his head on straight. If he can avoid serious injury he will be heard from next year in a big way. I'm confident that Freeze understands that he (Kelly) will be losing important protection from the OL. We saw how much more difficult things were with Tunsil and others out.

Pro quality? I think so. This guy is terrific. Will he stay with Ole Miss? Tough, consistent, disciplined, as I remember Archie (barely-I was 6 or 7). He IS a difference maker! Mississippi State is in deep trouble!
