This will be very similar to my post 2 weeks ago which turned into some good podcast fodder for @Chase Parham . I think everyone enjoyed the deep dive. Individual numbers first and then team stats with conference rankings after. These are conference only stats.
Batting- 20 AB minimum
Luke Cheng (23 AB's)- .391 BA / 1.109 OPS. 1 HR, 2 2B, 4 RBI
Will Furniss (44 AB's)- .364 BA / 1.151 OPS. 3 HR, 4 2B, 17 RBI
Brayden Randle (22 AB's)- .364 BA / .878 OPS. 2 2B, 1 RBI, 2 SB
Luke Hill (63 AB's)- .333 BA / 1.052 OPS. 4 HR, 3 2B, 1 3B, 14 RBI, 5 SB
Austin Fawley (59 AB's)- .322 BA / 1.058 OPS. 5 HR, 5 2B, 16 RBI
Mitchell Sanford (66 AB's)- .303 BA / 1.040 OPS. 5 HR, 5 2B, 2 3B, 5 SB
Judd Utermark (63 AB's)- .286 BA / .790 OPS. 2 HR, 3 2B, 9 RBI, 1 SB
Isaac Humphrey (59 AB's)- .271 BA / .947 OPS. 5 HR, 3 2B, 18 RBI, 1 SB
Hayden Federico (51 AB's)- .235 BA / .720 OPS. 1 HR, 1 2B, 8 RBI, 5 SB
Ryan Moerman (63 AB's)- .175 BA / .610 OPS. 2 HR, 3 2B, 8 RBI, 2 SB
We keep throwing Moerman out there in the middle of the order with the lowest OPS on the team. I really can't make sense of it
Pitching- 4 appearances minimum
Connor Spencer (5 appearances, 8.1 IP)- 1.08 ERA, 1.11 WHIP. 8 K's - 3 BB/HBP. .188 BA against
Alex Canney (4 appearances, 5 IP)- 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP. 6 K's - 6 BB/HBP. .188 BA against
Mason Morris (5 appearances, 17.1 IP)- 3.63 ERA, 1.35 WHIP. 28 K's - 8 BB/HBP. .239 BA against
Mason Nichols (5 starts, 20.2 IP)- 4.79 ERA, 1.34 WHIP. 19 K's - 9 BB/HBP. .265 BA against
Ryne Rodriguez (6 appearances, 3.2 IP)- 4.91 ERA, .63 WHIP, 3 K's - 2 BB/HBP. .182 BA against
Hunter Elliott (5 starts, 24.1 IP)- 5.55 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 28 K's - 18 BB/HBP. .227 BA against
Will McCausland (5 appearances, 12 IP)- 7.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP. 15 K's - 3 BB/HBP. .314 BA against
Walker Hooks (5 appearances, 10 IP)- 8.10 ERA, 1.90 WHIP. 15 K's - 4 BB/HBP. .357 BA against
Riley Maddox (5 starts, 17.2 IP)- 8.15 ERA, 1.90 WHIP. 16 K's - 11 BB/HBP. .306 BA against
Landon Waters (5 appearances, 4.2 IP)- 9.64 ERA, 1.90 WHIP. 7 K's - 2 BB/HBP. .353 BA against
Brayden Jones (8 appearances, 5 IP)- 19.80 ERA, 3.40 WHIP. 9 K's - 4 BB/HBP. .500 BA against
Numbers are starting to come down some but I'm going to need an explanation on Brayden Jones being in more games than anyone else on the roster.
The bullpen is just simply not deep enough for the starters to give us what they have. Bianco and Mangrum have to find something in the rotation to give the pen more relief. Starters have yet to record half of the innings in a series. We haven't had a single starter complete 6 IP through 15 starts. Here is what they've given us combined through 5 series- Arkansas- 13.2 IP, Mizzou- 12 IP, Florida- 10.1 IP, Kentucky- 13.2 IP, and then 13 IP this weekend. That's just not going to cut it.
Team stats and conference rankings-
BA- .287 (T2 with TN) - Arkansas is number 1 at .337
OPS- .909 (3rd) - Trailing Arkansas (1.048) and Georgia (.930)
HR- 29 (3rd) - Arkansas (39) and Georgia (38)
Doubles- 32 (T1 with MS State)
Walks- 84 (1st)
Strikeouts- 166 (T14 with Texas) - Georgia (176) and Mizzou (172)
HBP- 17 (T12 with Florida and Vandy) - Kentucky leads the way with a staggering 52 hit batters
GIDP- 5 (T1 with Arkansas, TN, and KY) - Our next opponent, South Carolina, has the most with 15
Runs- 117 (3rd) - Arkansas (163) and Georgia (125) are ahead of us there
SB-22 (T2 with Kentucky) - Oklahoma has the most with 26
Sacrifice Flies- 11 (1st)
Sacrifice Bunts- 6 (T5 with Arkansas and MS State) #NeverBunt
As seen through 5 series, the offense is going to give us a shot in most games. In half of our losses we have scored 8 or more runs.
ERA- 6.18 (12th) - Texas (3.20), Arkansas (4.21), LSU (4.29) are tops in the league
BA Against- .273 (10th)
Strikeouts- 166 (1st) - trailing are LSU (162) and Arkansas (161)
Walks- 52 (T6) - A&M leads the way with 36
HBP- 28 (15) - Only Mizzou (36) has hit more batters
Wild Pitches- 15 (14th)
Errors- 11 (T-8). Sanford has 3 as a corner OF, inexcusable. The only other player with multiple is Paino
Fielding %- .980 (8th)
Stole Bases given up- 15 (T11 with Vandy) - Texas and A&M have only given up 3 each. TN has given up the most with 26
Double Plays turned- 5 (15th) - Only SC has turned fewer. They have turned the least amount of DP and hit into the most
Middle of the pack is honestly better than I expected for our fielding numbers. The amount of free bases we give up with wild pitches and HBP is maddening. Still kind of crazy that we lead the conference in strike outs but teams are hitting at such a high clip. We're either missing barrels completely or getting squared up.
