Yes one of the arrows in our quiver is to extend the middle finger of friendship and play who we want but I for one really like the fact we are trying to leave everyone a door to leave this amicably, save face and still get our player on the field.
By all accounts, we are going to haul in an incredible recruiting class. Three years ago we did the same thing. Unless we want our players continually vetted and examined by a publically stung NCAA enforcement division, we handle this situation openly and professionally with the desired end result being our player plays and the NCAA can show they did their due diligence in the situation just as Ole Miss did to self-police the issues involved.
This will help us because when we do haul in this class on signing day everyone can be assured we do it the right way and we have a staff that respects the rules. That can only help us.
I think the staff knows right now if Tunsil will play or not. It's just a case of if we want to chap the NCAA's ass with the repercussions down the road that might bring. Ideally we can find a win-win scenerio that will get our player on the field and not piss the NCAA off in the process not to mention giving the media a bunch of bad publicity to beat to death over the winter.
