Ole Miss concludes its stay in Arlington at 2:30 p.m. today against Clemson. The Tigers are 2-0 after a tight win over Oklahoma State and a rout of Arizona, where Clemson scored seven int he first and eight in the ninth -- all without a home run. This is Erik Bakich's first game with the team after a two-game suspension to start the season. Cam Cannarella is CU's most exciting player and its spark plug.

Clemson is going with lefty Justin LeGuernic today -- a sidearm left-hander with a fastball around 90-92 and a big sweeper. His pitches are fairly hard to hit, but they are hard to command, too. Ole Miss can't help him out or it could be a long day. He's been prone to walks in his career. Bakich says that's better, so we'll see.

Ole Miss hasn't worked a pitcher at all yet this season including Texas only throwing 77 pitches in 7 innings last night. The approach has to be better, especially from the left side. Mike said he's using three different lineups this weekend, but the only change yesterday was Fawley for Randle. The blowup inning was whatever, and I'm not changing stance on Riley Maddox after one start. The offense is the concern in the crazy small sample size -- a concern I had coming into the season.

From a bullpen standpoint, I think Ole Miss would like to get Townsend and McCausland some work.
