I finally watched this on Amazon Instant Video last night. Filmed in Mississippi, James Franco directed and starred in the move as Darl. The movie got absolutely horrific reviews. I mean the reviews could not have been any worse, but I really wanted to see it. I actually thought it was well done. The shooting style was innovative with split screens for a large portion of the movie showing different angles. The voice overs were a nice way of handling all of the narrators throughout the story and their thoughts. Look Rotten Tomatoes... As I Lay Dying is a near impossible piece of literature to make a movie out of, and I thought Franco did a good job. It follows the book quite well. All the reviews hating it were probably largely from people who never read the book. Anywho...
Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?
