OT: Is Sunrise at Haleakala in Maui worth it?

Thinking about loading up the family while we're in Maui to take in this sight. Assuming we're able to get one of the reservations, what time did you/your party get to the summit for the sunrise? It opens at 3am and we would have roughly a 2-2.5 hr drive to get to the summit.
