Just walked out of Cuckoo, newest severely hyped horror/thriller of the year.
I wanna give credit where it’s due, it’s unique and the actors are good.
BUT
I’m tired of this bullshit trend of 3-4 deeply weird and confusing movies coming out every year that just seem weird for no freaking reason.
I’m a film freaking nerd and there’s a load of movies that get great critical reviews that I just simply don’t get. I’ve dissected and wrote essays on probably 100+ movies. And I do like a weird movie, loved Long Legs recently.
Seems like Hollywood just wants to make a couple movies a year that are weird for weirdness sake so they can stick their nose up and say “Well you just don’t get it”
