OT: looking for some advice on a trip to Paris

This is more for the wife and daughter. So I'm sure they will sort out things to do.

Looking for thoughts on best central location and perhaps even hotels you would recommend. In some initial research the Eiffel Tower area is noted as a good place (I assume centrality and access to train). Any confirmation on this and or hotel preferences? For context the art museums of which there are many are the focal point of the trip.

My second question is around Normandy. I want to sneak in a trip, wondering if by experience anyone knows if this can be done as a day trip and still get a good experience?

Finally, any other tips? My only time there was quick business trips
