We have Spectrum streaming using an Apple TV device.
The past couple months the resolution sucks. Looks like 480.
Two technician visits and a couple of phone calls and I finally get a straight answer.
It's a known issue with Apple TV devices the past couple of months. Its the Spectrum TV App.
Who knows when it will get fixed.
Meanwhile I really want to see the Super Bowl in 4K Dolby Vison HDR10 on my 65 Sony XBR AE1.
The technician tells me low key that Roku is a workaround. Spectrum only licenses with Samsung TVs, Apple TVs and Roku.
Relatively minimal upfront cost for the Roku device but then I can probably cancel the monthly Apple TV payment.
So I'm new to streaming.
Whats the downside to using ROKU. What will I miss from Apple TV?
I hate the Apple TV remote. Would welcome an improvement.
Silent listening through headphones is a plus. Any other pluses?
