OT: Saenger Theater - New Orleans

Part of my girls Christmas present is that my wife and I are taking them to see the Nutcracker ballet in New Orleans. I bought parking in the Roosevelt garage (145 university Place) . Any of you ever parked there? Are there better alternatives? Safety concerns with the garage?

I also want to take them to lunch nearby. Any recommendations from the board? Youngest daughter is 9.
