Since we're gonna have a whole season of Florida and FSU fans speculating/trashing our "little Mississippi" program and wanting to poach Lane, why do people just never give our program it's due?
Lane is obviously the x-factor, but it's like we're not allowed to be a great program even though we've had numerous elite players/good seasons/beaten national champions since 2000. It's like we're always judged off of Ed O's and Nutt's tenures. Our program has suffered more than most from bad administrations and the NCAA. Even if Kiffin leaves, we have the money and recruiting prowess to always at least be a playoff contender most years.
I think it boils down to national media not wanting Mississippi to succeed and fanbases being un-informed on how college football really works. Long winded post but it's just funny how people contradict themselves on their Ole Miss takes. "Your little Ole Miss and will never win anything, but please Lane come be our coach!"
