I was fortunate to hear Pete Golding speak today at Southern Farm Bureau Life here in Jackson today. He was speaking to a large group of District Managers across 11 states. He talked about what Ole Miss was looking for in a football player and compared it to how companies look for good employees . It was well done. He spoke for a solid hour and was very entertaining. He said he that he had talked to Luke about a position at Ole Miss but that Saban contacted him and he wound up at Bama instead. However, he said that his wife had followed him around for 13 years and did what he wanted to do. When the Ole Miss position opened, she said she was moving to Oxford and hoped he would follow. Pete said that Saban tried two or three times to convince him to stay at Bama but Pete said Ole Miss and Oxford was a great move for the family. Pete said his wife had 3 degrees from Ole Miss, including a Law degree, her family lived there, and that it was a great move for him and especially the family. Very happy to have him and his family in Oxford !
