All the first round losers had to travel to a road game and freeze their asses while getting blown out. Their season is over before Christmas.
Clemson won the ACC and got rewarded with a road game @UT. 20 years ago they’d be playing West Virginia or Syracuse in the Orange Bowl on New Years.
Assuming Bama, Scar, and Ole Miss win their bowl games in what world would any one of them trade with Tennessee? Hell even if they lose they got the bowl trip and warm weather.
I still prefer a playoff structure but the BCS and even old bowl system had its advantages. And after all isn’t college football supposed to be fun? Is anyone having fun right now?
