It is in their blood. They lust for power and control. It gives them leverage to give out goodies in exchange for money and political support. For example, a couple of years ago Bryant and Barber installed a crony as Director of a large planning firm in South Mississippi that receives millions in state tax dollars. He has only a high school degree. That crony served as the elected So. Mississippi Public Service Commissioner and was the winning vote to approve the Kemper Coal Plant that has and will skyrocket electric rates in South Mississippi. He killed himself politically but was put into a six figure job.I have seen these things first hand on many occasions.
Jones did not play ball with the powers. Make no mistake, they want more control over things at Ole Miss to reward certain people and access to its financial resources.
