This is a difficult poll question to articulate because there are so many variables. As you know allegedly Vareb's picture was posted without any other identifying information. Also alledgely the picture was obtained from the public domain. Also, allegedly this was done because vareb has/had MSU ties.
It has struck me since I have been back that we post some strange stuff on the board under our anonymous names. Some people admit to committing criminal acts, make misogynist remarks, use expletives in our posts, make threats etc.
Some of us do not even agree with the coaches and in 1 sport are always talking about how bad he is and that he should be fired.
I realize our reasons for anonymity are unique to each of us:job , friends among others.
I am told that my position against "outing" people for what ever reason is not shared. I am told the majority of us think that if we do not like a posters politics , position on our basketball coach or just do not like the poster we should , if we can ,"out them". Of course the "outing" would carry with it all the stuff that the poster has said when he or she was anonymous.
For example if poster A worked for a company with other subscribers and only his picture was posted and during the course of his membership he made comments contrary to what a good employee would say or do would that type of outing be acceptable?
I know I am getting into the weeds so I guess my question is any type of outing acceptable. I realize some of you use your own name. Some of you may not realize an anti AK rant may hurt you if your boss is a big a AK guy and you are outed . I give those 2 examples to say you will have to use your imagination.
In my opinion the anonymity makes for a much more free flowing board with personality since some people feel free to say things that they would not normally say about many subjects from Ole Miss sports to World politics.
I also realize the fear of MSU folks being on the board may skew the results but what the heck?
