Frankly, Ole Miss paid Tennessee Tech's offense too much respect yesterday. It's good. They can hit. It's legitimate, but they've played 60 games or so mostly against teams without velocity arms. They remind me of ULL in a lot of ways from 2014. In game one that year, the Cajuns crushed because Ellis and Ole Miss nibbled and tried to breaking ball the way through the lineup. That doesn't work. In games two and three Ole Miss went after them with velocity and getting ahead and won the games.
Tech is good hitters, but they haven't seen consistent velocity in the 90s all season. Get ahead in the count with fastballs and challenge them. It's the breaking stuff in off counts and the free passes that complicate things. Score runs on offense and then throw the fastball in good spots. That's how you win the regional.
