Brett McAlpin was one of my best friends in high school. I would have died on a hill defending him. I’m incredibly shocked and disappointed that he was a part of this stuff. Brett was a really good person and really cared for people. Never ever showed a racist bone around me. Ever.
But the fact of the matter is that Brett ram things in Rankin county. He not only knew what was going on but he okayed it. Same goes for Bailey. I get the limits have to be stretched sometimes but this “goon squad” stuff was way past that.
So disappointed on a personal level. Brett was a person I looked up to.
