How I would rank unbeaten teams based on what they have truly done up to this point.
1 (6) Clemson
2 (7) Utah
3 (10) Texas A&M
4 (5) LSU
5 (2) Baylor
6 (8) FSU
7 (4) Michigan St
8 (1) Ohio State
9 (3) TCU
These unbeaten teams have beaten nobody that was ranked.
Ohio St (and they squeaked by N Illinois and Indiana)
Baylor (no squeak by wins)
TCU (and they squeaked by KState, Minn, TexasTech)
FSU (and they squeaked by WForest and Miami)
Michigan St (beat Oregon which has turned out to be a bust. They squeaked by Rutgers and Purdue)
Unbeaten teams that deserve better rankings than the above teams: Clemson (beat a high ranked team and squeaked by Louisville)
Utah (beat a low ranked team and Oregon which has turned out to be a bust. Beat then unranked Michigan which is looking more impressive now)
Texas A&M (beat a low ranked team and a mid ranked team, squeaked by Ark)
LSU (beat a low ranked team and Auburn which has turned out to be a bust)
Future of these teams according to the rest of their schedules:
Clemson has one higher ranked opponent. (odds are they drop 0 of the one game)
Utah has one low ranked opponent. (odds are they drop 0 of the one game)
Texas A&M has two high ranked and one mid ranked opponent. (odds are they drop two of the three games)
LSU has three high ranked and one mid ranked opponent. (odds are they drop two of the four games)
Ohio St has one high ranked and one mid ranked opponent. (odds are they drop one of the two)
Baylor has one high ranked, one mid ranked, and one low ranked opponent. (tough one to call but I think they win all three)
TCU has one high ranked, one mid ranked, and one low ranked opponent. (odds are they drop one of the three)
FSU has two high ranked opponents (odds are they drop one of the two)
Michigan St has two high ranked opponents (odds are they drop two of the two)
Here is how I think it will end up based on end of season record:
1) Clemson
2) Baylor
3) Utah
4) A team with only one loss, as of today, goes undefeated the rest of the season and jumps ahead of Ohio St, TCU, and FSU because the leap frog team has several big wins that is more impressive than anything that Ohio St, TCU, or FSU have on their resume.
It will be between OleMiss, AL, and Michigan for the last playoff spot.
