Ole Miss held off Arkansas, 5-4, Friday to even the series and set up a rubber game on Saturday. Those haven't been kind of the Rebels in recent weeks, but Ole Miss got a much-needed win to even its conference record at 4-4 and move to 14-13 overall.

Arkansas fell to 13-13 and 2-6 in the SEC.

Brady Bramlett was very mentally tough, throwing his heavy fastball often. The sophomore pitched into the sixth inning and allowed just two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks. He threw 114 high-stress pitches, 73 strikes. Bramlett didn't allow an extra base hit and left eight men on base through five innings. He's impressive every time out. Bramlett has allowed just three earned runs in the last 24.1 innings.

Ole Miss scored five runs and won a game with Sikes Orvis and JB Woodman combining to go 0-for-8 with four strikeouts. Cam Dishon had three hits and had two runs and two RBI. He hit his second home run of the season. He's done a really nice job this season at the bottom of the lineup.

Colby Bortles hit his third home run of the year and also walked and was hit by a pitch. He had some nice at-bats back in the four-hole after some recent absences from the lineup.

Ole Miss struck out nine times and continues to struggle there, but the two balls out of the ball park and a huge two-run, two-out single from Will Golsan in the second inning paced it.

In that second inning, there were two quick outs, and then two walks, a single and a walk set up Golsan's hit. It was a three-run inning for Ole Miss. That hasn't happened often. Making opponents pay for mistakes is key for this team.

I have no idea who is pitching tomorrow. Another shot for Will Stokes maybe since Jacob Waguespack threw on Thursday.

Scott Weathersby went three innings, allowing a two-run home run but throwing well again. He pitched one out into the ninth because Mike Bianco had a mistake on his card regarding whether the leadoff Arkansas hitter was a lefty or righty. After that batter, Wyatt Short entered and picked up his third save of the season. Short could come back tomorrow in relief.

The umpire blew a call and cost Ole Miss a run late in the game, but he also gave some balls and strikes calls to the Rebels in that big inning. Also, Arkansas had head coach Dave Van Horn and infielder Clark Eagan ejected during the game. Eagan won't be available for the Razorbacks tomorrow.

As you can see below, the team compare is much better for Ole Miss tonight. These numbers in situations are pretty good.
