Thank you for contacting me with regard to President Obama's plan to accept 9,000 Syrian Muslim refugees into the United States.
As you are aware, President Obama recently announced his decision for the United States to accept 9,000 Syrian Muslim refugees. These refugees are victims of the war between the Assad regime and the Sunni opposition. The Department of State has stated that only people at risk from massacres are eligible. While I am not a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, which has jurisdiction over this issue, please be assured I will continue to monitor this situation closely and that I appreciate you reaching out to share your views.
