Ole Miss has 17 top 50 wins which is the third most nationally. 17-11 record in those games. RPI moved up a little after ECU and Carolina lost. Have to think the Gamecocks are out of the hosting discussion now.
The Rebels still have a tremendous amount of work to do for a top eight seed, but the resume is slightly better today than yesterday. I think geography will play into it immensely, but if it were a true 1-16 seed situation, Ole Miss is more in that 9-12 range than the 11-15 range which would obviously help the draw.
So, basically, this is all a bunch of nothing right now, but yesterday was a good day in some minor ways.
