Taking a quick glance over our and MSU's schedule it is clear that MSU lucked out with a perfect bye week going into the last quarter of the season.
October 10- Troy
October 17- LA Tech
October 24- Kentucky
October 31- BYE
November 5- Missouri on Thursday Night
November 14- Alabama
Essentially they have two cupcake games (if you still look at LA Tech as that) and a very winnable game against Kentucky at MSU. Then they get a week off before a Thursday night game against Missouri. After that they get nine more days before playing Bama. Not a bad month in terms of playing weaker opponents and giving your team time to rest and heal up before Bama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.
In terms of our schedule we could literally hobble into our bye week. We play 10 games and do not get a bye until Nov. 14.
November 21- LSU
November 28- MSU
There is no soft opponent before the bye either. We play Texas A & M, Auburn, and Arkansas before the bye. Hopefully we can give lots of guys reps in our first half of the season with the exception of Bama and Florida.
November will be as big as ever, but it may not depend solely on records. It could be the team that is the healthiest and most rested. If MSU doesn't drop a few to Bama, LSU, or Auburn before their late October stretch they could be a well rested team to face at season's end.
