Player of the Week: Charlie Condon, Georgia
Georgia’s Charlie Condon recorded an SEC-best 24 total bases, 4 home runs, 10 RBI, and 11 hits plus eight runs scored in helping Georgia go 3-1 last week including a series win over Missouri. He batted an SEC-best .647 (11-for-17) for the week including .615 (8-for-13) with three home runs and eight RBI in weekend series. Condon is the NCAA leader in home runs (24), slugging (1.109), total bases (152) and is second in batting (.482), hits (66) and on base percentage (.586).
Co-Pitcher of the Week: Zane Adams, Alabama
Alabama’s Zane Adams helped the Crimson Tide secure the series victory over top-ranked Arkansas as he combined for the shutout on Sunday, working 8.0 scoreless with only four hits and one walk while striking out five. He recorded four 1-2-3 innings and allowed only one baserunner to advance past second base.
Co-Pitcher of the Week: Chris Cortez, Texas A&M
Texas A&M’s Chris Cortez went 2-0 on the week, totaling 8.1 scoreless innings and punching out a league-best 15 batters. In Tuesday’s win over UTSA, Cortez struck out seven over four scoreless frames as the Aggies completed the comeback against the Roadrunners. On Sunday, Cortez calmed the early surge from No. 5 Vanderbilt and delivered 4.1 scoreless innings to go along with a career-high tying eight punchouts.
Freshman of the Week: Gavin Grahovac, Texas A&M
Texas A&M’s Gavin Grahovac registered a .400/.526/.867 slash line to help the Aggies to a 4-0 record, including a sweep of No. 5 Vanderbilt. The freshman homered twice, drove in three RBI, scored eight times and drew four walks during the week. Both of his homers came on the weekend, and he registered three hits in the series finale on Sunday.
