Co-Player of the Week: Ryland Zaborowski, Georgia
Georgia’s Ryland Zaborowski batted .438 (7-for-16) with one double, six home runs and 18 RBI in just four games in helping No. 5 Georgia extend its winning streak to 15 now at 18-1. He posted a 1.563 slugging percentage with 25 total bases in just four games in wins over Georgia State and Columbia. Zaborowski smashed two home runs with career-high 7 RBI in back-to-back games. He is the national leader in slugging percentage (1.170) and ranks second in home runs (10) and RBI (36) while batting .447 in 16 games with 15 starts.
Co-Player of the Week: Wehiwa Aloy, Arkansas
Arkansas’ Wehiwa Aloy recorded five multi-hit games and three-multi RBI performances during the Razorbacks’ perfect 5-0 week, slashing a team-leading .632/.667/1.136 with four doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI to power the offense. Aloy racked up an SEC-leading 12 hits and totaled 25 bases during the week, belting a pair of home runs, his first career multi-homer game, in the series opener against Portland and logging consecutive four-RBI efforts in each of the first two games of the weekend series sweep of the Pilots.
Pitcher of the Week: Liam Doyle, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Liam Doyle played a starring role in the ninth no-hitter in program history and first since 2002, tossing 5.2 shutout innings with 13 strikeouts vs. St. Bonaventure on Friday to earn the win and improve to 3-0 on the year. Doyle walked the leadoff man before retiring the next 17 batters he faced. The Derry, New Hampshire native’s 13 punchouts were the second most in the conference during the week and brought his NCAA-leading total to 47 in just 20.1 innings pitched.
Co-Freshman of the Week: Levi Clark, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Levi Clark led all SEC freshmen with a .615 batting average for the week after going 8-for-13 with a double and a home run while driving in six runs to add to his team-leading RBI total (23). Clark posted back-to-back three hit performances in Tennessee’s two midweek wins over Radford and Xavier and added three RBIs in Wednesday’s win over the Musketeers. He continued his offensive production with an RBI single and a stolen base in Friday’s series-opening win over St. Bonaventure.
Co-Freshman of the Week: Brodie Johnston, Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt’s Brodie Johnston became the first Commodore since at least 2011 to hit two home runs in one inning on Friday against Xavier. The freshman hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning before launching a walk-off grand slam later in the same frame to send the Dores home with a 15-3 run-rule win. For the week, Johnston went 6-for-15 (.400) with two home runs, a double, nine RBI and five runs scored.
