SEC BASEBALL WEEKLY HONORS – APRIL 7, 2025

Player of the Week: Cam Kozeal, Arkansas

Arkansas’ Cam Kozeal led the SEC in nearly every major offensive category, including hits (9), doubles (3), RBI (13), total bases (18), on-base percentage (.706) and slugging percentage (1.385), in Week 8, powering the Razorbacks to a weekend series sweep against Missouri at Baum-Walker Stadium. Led by Kozeal, who accounted for 13 RBI in the series and single-handedly outscored Missouri in the sweep, the Hogs set their program record for runs in an SEC series, sweeping the Tigers by a combined score of 51-9 over the three-game set. The Razorback first baseman had multiple hits, including a career high-tying four in the series opener, in all three games of the series, as well as logged multi-RBI games, including a career-high six RBI in game two, in all three games.

Co-Pitcher of the Week: Kade Anderson, LSU

LSU’s Kade Anderson fired a complete-game shutout on Thursday night in LSU’s 2-0 win over No. 9 Oklahoma. Anderson, whose longest career outing prior to Thursday night was 6.1 innings, limited Oklahoma to five hits in 9.0 innings while recording two walks and a career-best 14 strikeouts. He threw 135 pitches, 91 for strikes, and he retired 12 Oklahoma batters in a row to complete the outing. Anderson’s effort was the first complete-game shutout recorded by an LSU pitcher since April 24, 2018.

Co-Pitcher of the Week: Liam Doyle, Tennessee

Tennessee’s Liam Doyle played the starring role in a Tennessee combined no-hitter for the second time this season. The junior lefty had eight strikeouts and two walks over six shutout innings in a 10-0 seven-inning run-rule victory over Texas A&M in Friday’s series opener. It was the 10th no-hitter in program history and the first by an SEC team in league play since Vanderbilt no-hit Kentucky on April 22, 2022.

Freshman of the Week: Dylan Volantis, Texas

Texas’ Dylan Volantis appeared twice, earning a save and win against No. 3 Georgia to help the Longhorns secure its first sweep over a top-3 team in more than six years. Across his two outings, Volantis notched nine strikeouts over 5 1/3 scoreless innings against college baseball’s second-most prolific offense. On Friday, he recorded the final four outs on just eight pitches to notch his seventh save and lock down the 5-1 series-opening victory. Two days later, Volantis retired 12 of the 14 batters he faced to set the stage for the Longhorns’ 4-3 walk-off win. The southpaw registered a career-high eight strikeouts in four shutout innings, yielding just one hit.
