Sincere question for OM fans...

Obviously things can look very different from inside the circled wagons than they do from outside. And perspectives can change over time as more and more information becomes available. I've been talking with some other people, fans I know from around the SEC, and their various opinions are pretty easy to guess, but I'm curious about how OM fans are feeling now concerning how this thing has been handled and portrayed - most specifically, do you feel as if you've been lied to, and if so, by who? Freeze? The administration? The local media? Is there anyone or any group that has lost your trust as a result of what has taken place to this point?

I'm trying to get a sense of where the blame for all of this is falling inside the OM community - not necessarily for the infractions, but for the misinformation which seems to have created false expectations among fans, players and even potential recruits.

I learned a long time ago not to worry about things that I can't control. Doesn't matter if they lied, produced gold from grass, or made blue monkeys fly out of a corndogs arse. We as fans have no control over it so why worry. There are two types of people in this world, ones who look for who to blame and ones who look for solutions to the problems. Fault solves nothing.

I don't know if that's true - doesn't the administration, the coaches, the media - don't they all essentially work for the fans? I would think that the first, best way to be treated fairly and honestly is by speaking out against abusing your trust, both with words and with your pocketbook. Magazines that nobody reads don't survive, neither does websites that no one subscribes to. Administrations that lose donors get replaced, falling ticket sales get coaches fired.

Shrugging your shoulders and saying 'yeah, we get misled and lied to by people we trust, but whatchagonnado' seems to me to be the absolute #1 way to make sure that you get misled and lied to again. fault solves everything, because it keeps it from happening again, or at the very least makes it much less likely.

The big money donors are the ones who make decision at universities. Standard season ticket holders and the run of the mill guys like us don't. You can pretend we are all more important than we are but it's simply not true. Majority of the fan base didn't want colonel reb gone but the boosters were ok with it so he went. Same thing with parking on game day. If you think what is said on these boards matters at all you are delusional.

Why does your congress people lie and abuse your trust, I try not to worry about what i have no control over. Us ole miss fans can't do the hiring and firing, the only recourse we as fans have is to decide wherther to buy tickets and go to games or not. College football is not the center of my world like it is for people like you.
