Good writeup of what's coming: "So what will happen to Ole Miss? Considering the NCAA is still investigating the text exchange that surfaced on Tunsil's draft night, the possibility exists Ole Miss could face more allegations. Even if the investigation were over, it would be impossible to predict the sanctions because of NCAA bureaucracy. A majority of the alleged football violations occurred after Oct. 30, 2012, which means the program will be judged primarily by a new penalty structure that hasn't been tested in a case of this caliber and profile. One key tenant of the new structure is head coach responsibility, which theoretically could expose Freeze to a suspension despite him not being alleged with any specific wrongdoing.

"[Does the NCAA] stick to their guns like they said a few years ago and hold the head coach accountable?" asked a veteran SEC head coach. "Or is the NCAA going to wipe their hands of this? If they do, it's going to turn college football into college basketball, which is a free for all. They need to make a damn statement, sooner or later."

But the serious violation is back under nutt : just not much there with new violations ; most of light majors deal with tunsil and he's already had to sit out 7 games ; heck , all benefits don't even total 17,000 in benefits

Starting to look bleak for the Bears.

The most serious allegations against Tunsil are the draft night texts and those are still under investigation by the NCAA. So the school hasn't heard what will happen with that.

I did think the statement from the SEC coach was very telling, he is clearly as frustrated with Ole Miss' cheating the last few years as most fans are. Time for the NCAA to say enough is enough.

They could start with Bama. Oh, I forgot they handle everything internally.

Problem is, Bama isn't under investigation for buying/paying players. Not judging whether they should be or shouldn't be simply saying they are not under investigation at this time.

The MAIN problem is the NCAA investigator is a Bama grad and huge Bama fan and he reports to a BAMA grad. Saban is the one in control. If this didn't have Saban all over it I would feel a lot better. If I ever wanted to win a football game it would be the one against Bama this year.

In that case Ole Miss should ask for an unbiased team of investigators and the NCAA should have an independent panel review the findings and any sanctions to make sure everything is handled properly.

Wait, what?

There isn't one investigator on the Ole Miss case.

Nick Saban isn't an Alabama grad, he graduated from Kent State.

Ole Miss is being investigated because it broke NCAA rules.

Other than this, you are exactly right.

It's sad how clueless ranchreb is on the situation. "Clueless" is putting it nicely. "Stupid" probably sums it up better.

And like all the other Bama bowl losses, they "didn't want to be there". LOL

No, Bama definitely wanted to be there. Sometimes, the best team doesn't win the game. Ole Miss got curb stomped by UF and Memphis (LOL).

Any loss to Ole Miss is embarrassing considering........well they're Ole Miss. But considering we have TWO more SEC titles and another NC, we are doing just fine. We will probably win another one this year, Ole Miss will go back to being a 7-5 team and nobody will think twice about it. Then in 2017 they will get sent back to the Coach O days when the penalties are levied.

You have the embarrassment and Mullen has the insomnia. Freeze and Ole Miss have the wins.

Where did I say Saban was a Bama grad. The head NCAA investigator in the Ole Miss case graduated from Bama and has stated publicly he's a big Bama fan. His boss in the NCAA is also a Bama grad. His boss is the head of the NCAA who is very good friends with Saban. Connect the dots. Saban is calling the shots.

In your post. And who is the lead NCAA investigator in this case and where did he admit that he was a huge Bama fan? I want to see an actual link to a quote, not some made up claim by an Ole Miss fan on an Ole Miss board.

The only dots I connect is Ole Miss cheated, and now they are under investigation.

I really think this ranch guy hears voices in his head and then posts what he hears. He can't provide a link because everything he said is pure fiction. But that's putting it nicely, he's really just a huge liar. It makes him feel better about OM cheating I have to assume.

No program in America would make that trade. You act like Ole Miss is Alabama or something.

Alabama has been the flagship program for the SEC for many years. You have been because your fans demand a winner and a coach who can win National Championships. Ole Miss athletics was run by a Good Ole Boy network of Johnny Vaught spinoffs for 50 years. They were all self serving. We finally got rid of that group when Pete Boone was forced to retire. Ross Bjork is a great AD. It'll be interesting to see how long we can keep him. Missouri came after him and Florida may also. Bjork talked Freeze out of taking the Florida job and Freeze may have to talk Bjork out of it also. I don't dislike Alabama or Mississippi State. I was born in Tuscaloosa and was a Bama fan early in my life. Then we moved to Pascagoula and I pulled for Ole Miss, Miss State and Southern. It's the fans of Alabama and Miss State I don't like. Most Bama fans are arrogant aholes and their only accomplishments in life are actually the accomplishments of their favorite football team. Miss State fans care more about trashing Ole Miss than they do about their own program winning. No matter what happens at State their eyes are always on Ole Miss. Mississippi State University is a great university. Had I wanted to be an engineer I'd gone there instead of Ole Miss. There are many things I like about Miss State. They do a much better job attracting Mississippi kids to their school than Ole Miss does. Too bad football has to turn fans into pricks.

Actually Florida backed off of Freeze due to concerns over his breaking of NCAA rules..."Freeze was never even considered because of the rumors and rumblings involving an NCAA investigation that was announced shortly after the Gators hired Jim McElwain."

Florida offered Freeze the job but Foley won't own up to it. Florida never reports coaches who turned them down. Tyrone Nix turned down the DC job one year and it was never reported.

You have a very active imagination.

And all your info comes from journalists. I get mine from people involved. I know other Ole Miss coaches who were offered jobs but it was never reported. Clemson came after Nutt but they said he had to retain Dabo Sweeney on his staff. Nutt said he would take the job only if he could bring his entire staff with him. So, the talks fell through. You may not call that an official offer but it was an offer with conditions

Didn't LSU buy a player recently and get nailed for it? If I remember the assistant was fired. Miss State just got off probation for buying a player a car. They also admitted offering Cam Newton money to play. They also admitted paying a recruit $6000 not to visit Ole Miss. All D1 schools do it.

Feel kinda sorry for these so called Bama fans ITT.
