Wash your hands after handling/using guns and ammo. Don’t mess with your guns in rooms where young children frequent like the living room. Lead particles can be transferred from clothing and flooring to other areas where children frequent and crawl.

“Childhood exposure to lead increases the risk of behavioral problems, reduced cognitive abilities and poor growth and development. There is no safe level of lead exposure, said Joseph Braun, a professor of epidemiology and director of the Center for Children’s Environmental Health at Brown.”

I know I’ve read in other places that lead poisoning from leaded gas and paint is believed to be the cause of higher crime rates in the 70s and 80s nationwide.

And before anyone asks, “lead” pencils are made from graphite and clay, not lead.
